As of late May 2025, Cheniere Energy has not forged a long-term gas supply agreement with Canadian Natural Resources. However, Cheniere has been active in securing major agreements with other key players. Notably, in late 2023, Cheniere’s subsidiary, Sabine Pass Liquefaction Stage V, LLC, signed a significant 15-year contract with ARC Resources U.S. Corp., a division of Canada's ARC Resources Ltd. This deal entails ARC Resources providing 140,000 MMBtu per day of natural gas, with the delivery beginning upon the commencement of the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Expansion Project's first train, projected to start in 2029.
Furthermore, in mid-2023, another Cheniere subsidiary, Cheniere Marketing LLC, reached a long-term agreement with OMV Gas Marketing and Trading GmbH. This deal will see up to 12 LNG cargoes, roughly 850,000 tonnes per annum, being supplied at a TTF-indexed price, also starting in 2029. This ensures a stable and competitive supply route for OMV AG, as reported by lngprime.com.
Cheniere Energy has strategically positioned itself to meet future energy demands through these multi-year agreements. The ARC Resources deal aligns with their expansion plans, while the OMV agreement underscores Cheniere's focus on meeting European gas needs via strategic partnerships. These moves reflect Cheniere's ongoing commitment to expanding its LNG supply capabilities in a dynamically changing global energy market.
