Herbalife Ltd. is venturing into personalized nutrition by acquiring several companies and forming strategic partnerships. These include the full acquisition of digital health application company Pro2col Health LLC, known for using biometrics to tailor nutrition plans, and Pruvit Ventures, Inc., a direct-selling firm specializing in ketone supplements. Herbalife has also gained a controlling stake in Link BioSciences Inc., which crafts customized supplements from various health data. As per Herbalife's press release, these acquisitions are geared toward advancing the company's health and wellness offerings.
The financial layout for these transactions ranges between $25 million and $30 million, with more payments possible if certain performance milestones are met. In terms of release dates, a beta version of the Pro2col platform is expected for select U.S. distributors by late 2025, with broader international rollout anticipated in 2026. To enhance product development, Herbalife has partnered with soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo, who will lend his expertise as an advisor on the Pro2col platform.
These strategic moves indicate Herbalife's drive to modernize its business model by integrating cutting-edge digital technology with production capabilities. This push comes as Herbalife aims to solidify its position as a leading health and wellness platform, aligning with its goal of leveraging technology and personalized nutrition to boost its product lineup and expand its distributor network.
