Stellantis Appoints Antonio Filosa as New CEO

Stellantis has announced the appointment of Antonio Filosa as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective June 23, 2025. This decision comes after the resignation of Carlos Tavares in December 2024, following a year marked by significant profit and sales declines. Filosa, who currently leads Stellantis' North American operations, is set to take over the reins of the world's fourth-largest automaker. Reuters reported on this leadership change, noting the strategic importance of the role amidst shifting automotive industry dynamics.

Filosa brings a wealth of experience in the automotive industry, having worked over 25 years in various leading roles. He first joined Fiat in 1999 and has since served as the Chief Operating Officer for South America and the CEO of the Jeep brand. At 51, Filosa is well-versed in global markets, particularly in South America, a region where he has been credited with achieving significant operational successes, according to AP News.

Facing the challenge of a 70% drop in net profit and a €6 billion cash burn in 2024, Filosa has clear priorities ahead. These include revitalizing Stellantis' position in the crucial U.S. market, optimizing their extensive 14-brand portfolio, and strengthening relationships with dealers, unions, and governments. The company, a result of the 2021 merger between Fiat Chrysler and PSA Group, confronts the pressing need to innovate towards electric vehicles and compete with a growing Chinese auto market.

Dell Technologies has adjusted its financial outlook, anticipating an annual adjusted earnings per share of $9.40 for fiscal year 2026, an increase from the earlier estimate of $9.30. This updated forecast comes in response to a significant rise in orders for its AI server business, highlighting the robust demand within this industry sector. Reuters reported that Dell has recorded $12.1 billion in AI server orders for the current quarter alone, which surpasses the entirety of shipments for fiscal 2025. This surge has resulted in a backlog valued at $14.4 billion. Additionally, Dell's AI servers are being deployed by prominent clients like Elon Musk's xAI and CoreWeave. The company's role in advanced computing is further underscored by its collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy, which plans to utilize Dell and Nvidia technology in its forthcoming supercomputer, Doudna. Dell's financial projections also indicate second-quarter revenue between $28.5 billion and $29.5 billion, exceeding analysts' predictions of $25.05 billion. Moreover, revenue from Dell's infrastructure solutions group has climbed by 12%, alongside a 5% increase in the client solutions group, which includes PCs. U.S. Department of Justice Moves to Drop Boeing 737 MAX Fraud Charge

U.S. Department of Justice Moves to Drop Boeing 737 MAX Fraud Charge

40 minutes agoBA

The U.S. Department of Justice has taken a significant step by requesting a judge to dismiss the criminal fraud charge against Boeing related to the 737 MAX crashes. This development suggests a potential resolution for the aerospace giant, highlighting a settlement that allows Boeing to avoid a felony conviction. This settlement, as Reuters reported, is crucial as such a conviction could have affected Boeing's operations as a federal contractor. Boeing's settlement involves a hefty payout of over $1.1 billion. This includes a fine of $243.6 million, $444.5 million allocated to compensate victims' families, and more than $455 million aimed at enhancing compliance, safety, and quality systems. The agreement also entails Boeing appointing an independent compliance consultant to oversee its safety and reform measures, while the company's board is required to engage directly with the victims' families. Despite the apparent resolution, the settlement has faced criticism, particularly from some of the victims' families. They argue that the deal doesn't hold Boeing adequately accountable and have expressed a desire for a full trial. The agreement also avoids a trial that was scheduled to begin on June 23, related to allegations that Boeing misled regulators about a key flight control system in the 737 MAX. As AP News highlighted, this approach aims to enhance compliance while allowing Boeing to move forward without the burden of a felony conviction.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has disclosed the pricing of $500 million in senior notes, with a specific aim to address the redemption of its existing debt. The company plans to redeem $500 million of its 9.500% Senior Notes that are due in 2025.
